Best Of Show 2023
BEST OF SHOW ORDER
"The Best of Show competition is open to all entrants who want their car or motorcycle to be judged. There is no pre-registration.
The cars of the event organisers will not be judged in order to avoid possible conflicts of interest.
Cars/motorcycles will be judged by a panel. The judging category is assigned by the jury members. The jury members shall visually assess the cars/motorcycles by scoring them according to the criteria published in advance.
Each judge looks at different parts - e.g. one judge looks under the bonnet, another looks at the boot etc.
The estimated number of judges is 4.
Estimated inspection time per participant - 5 minutes.
All judges' scores are added together. The winner is the participant with the highest number of points.
In the event of a tie, the winner will be chosen by a panel decision.
The decision of the jury shall be considered final and irrefutable.
The winners will be announced at the awards at 19:00.
The "Best of the Best" will be chosen from the winners of all categories after the awards. It is chosen by a live vote of the AS23 participants. Participants stand in line in front of what they consider to be this year's best nominee. The winner is announced by counting the votes.
"The "Best of the Best" will receive a special prize and free entry to the 2024 American Spirit Festival. Their car will also be featured on the poster for next year's event.
BEST OF SHOW TIMETABLE
The jury works in a special area.
Friday 15:00 - 18:00;
Saturday 12:00 - 16:00 (with a break at 14:00).
Participants are judged in a live queue at a time of their own choosing. Participants are on their own at the judging site.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
The queue at the judging area cannot exceed 5 cars. Entrants with a longer queue will be disqualified.
At the end of the inspection, the participant must leave the evaluation area immediately.
Entrants who do not make it to the judging on time will not be judged. The starting time for the last participant's evaluation is 15:50.
In view of these provisions, please take advantage of the opportunity to be evaluated as early as possible, e.g. on Friday or at the start of the day on Saturday.
BEST OF SHOW 2023 CATEGORIES
"Best Classic - cars built before 1952.
"Best Oldies - cars built between 1953 and 1982.
"Best Young - cars built between 1983 and 2012.
"Best Modern - cars built between 2013 and 2023.
"Best Muscle - 2-door cars with rear-wheel drive and V8 engines.
"Best Van - Mini, Full Size Van.
"Best Truck - SUVs, pickups, heavy equipment and other vehicles for off-road and work.
"Best Cabrio - body type with opening or removable roof and rear window.
"Best Hot Rod - cars modified to have more speed and acceleration or a sportier appearance. This class also includes Street Rod and Rat Rod cars.
"Best Motorcycle - Motorcycles.
"Best Of The Best - chosen from the winners of all categories. The election is held after the winners have been announced and awarded. The best of the best will be chosen by a "live queue" of spectators.
